Hyper Scape was Ubisoft’s attempt other genre representatives to compete. After less than two years, but now comes the depressing message that the Battle Royale shooter is set soon.
A failed experiment
Ubisoft published in 2020 the free-to-play shooter Hyper Scape, hoping thus to be as successful as other Battle Royale giants. However, interest in the community flattened short time off after release. After almost two years, so have time to say goodbye.
Thus, it is the second game that Ubisoft can occur after such a short time left. Recently we announced the end of the multiplayer support for watchdogs: at Legion.
In a blog post Ubisoft writes:
“We have made the difficult decision to end the development of hyper-Scape and adjust the game from April 28 . We set out to create a vertical, fast shooter experience with melee character, and we are very grateful to our community that has accompanied us on our trip. We will incorporate the key findings from this game in future products. “
Next to thank the Hyper-Scape community for their passion and commitment to the world of Neo Arcadia, both inside and outside the game. “Your dedication to the development of our game we will always cherish.” (Source: Ubisoft)
Why flopped Hyper Scape?
Hyper Scape is a battle royale as Call of Duty: Warzone, Apex Legends or still crumbly Battlefield 2042, but with a greater focus on vertical gameplay . In addition, a special feature of Ubisoft’s free-to-play shooter is the strong involvement of Twitch.
